GENERAL

  • All prices are subject to change without notice.
  • Better Built Barns requires 1/2 down upon ordering and the remainder upon completion.

SITE REQUIREMENTS

Better Built Barns requires a minimum clearance of two feet around the entire building for construction. (You will appreciate this space when it comes time to paint the building.) We also require an overhead clearance of two feet to apply roofing shingles. The customer must provide electricity. An additional fee will be charged if we must provide a generator.

SITE PREPARATION

Better Built Barns recommends that the building site be basically flat and free of obstruction or debris. If the site is within six inches of level, you don't need to do anything. We will level the building under the 4”x4” runners with concrete blocking and shims. NOTE: An additional fee may apply if our crew must pack materials more than 120'.

LEVELING BEYOND SIX (6) INCHES

Better Built Barns does not excavate or fill shed sites. When the site is than more than six (6) inches off level, the customer must exacavate or fill the site prior to shed assembly.

SCHEDULING

Delivery dates are determined by seasonal order volume. Better Built Barns will contact you by telephone to arrange a tentative delivery date for shed installation.

DELIVERY

Once your shed installation is scheduled, Better Built Barns will contact you two days before installation to review your order, and on the morning of the install date around 8:45 a.m. At this time, the crew will give you an estimated time of arrival.

Better Built Barns absolutely needs to have had contact with the customer within the two days prior to installation and before leaving for the customer’s site on the morning of construction. If inclement weather should prevent delivery, Better Built Barns will make arrangements with the customer for the next available date.

Once scheduled, if you need to reschedule the installation date, you must contact Better Built Barns three days before the scheduled installation date to make changes.

SHED CONSTRUCTION

Better Built Barns will verify the exact placement of the shed with the customer. Once the floor of the shed has been built and blocked, an additional fee will be charged if you request that it be moved.

PAINTING or STAINING

In order to meet the requirements of the 10-year warranty, Better Built Barns requires that the customer paint or stain the shed within ninety (90) days of its construction, including doors, which must be painted on both sides and all four edges. Additonally, the customer is required to caulk ALL horizontal, vertical, and diagonal trim.
NOTE: Some trim materials on certain buildings may not be primed. Many doors may not be primed. Painting and caulking are NOT included in the shed installation — they are the sole responsibility of the customer.

Better Built Barns recommends that all customers check with their local authorities to determine if a a building permit will be required. The customer is also responsible for checking with the proper zoning authorities for any building restrictions, neighborhood association CC&R’S, as well as reviewing his/her deed for any additional restrictions.
